I'm super excited to showcase our submission for Beyond Extent's Team Challenge, Kingdom Below!
Over the past 5 weeks, I worked together with 4 other teammates to create this environment from scratch.
We all made photobashes and sketches for the environment, and picked one to work off.
During the challenge, each team also gets a mentor who will provide feedback and guidance.

Our mentor provided us with plenty of feedback during each mentor session in Discord, which really helped shape the environment and get the lighting and atmosphere right! During the challenge, my team members and I also posted work-in-progress and gave each other feedback in between as well. We wanted the art style to be consistent, which is why giving and taking feedback was extremely important.
During the challenge, my tasks were to design the Sword, create one of the statues, and work on the crystals. Our teammate Yan created a base for the statue, which I was allowed to use. I did make changes in the clothing, hands, and arm pose, but having the body and face really helped with saving time in production and keeping consistency in the art.
The sword also went through a few changes during production. The first idea was to create a Sword Statue at the beginning of the challenge. This changed halfway through, which is why I replaced the blade with a flat metallic blade and added a piece of cloth on the handle.
During the challenge, I also created a blueprint to make the crystals around the sword float, and I also placed most of the ivy into the scene.
The ivy models and textures were created by Jaëlle.
At the 4th week, we also all tried to do a lighting pass in the environment.
