During this project, I tried to improve my texturing skills and trying to stick to the wayfinder artstyle. It took me some time, and I asked feedback and tips which helped me a lot! I still feel I could spend days or weeks polishing this asset but I really feel I need to let it go and move on to the next. The design is based on and inspired by Baldi Konijn:

When I saw his weapon concept art for Wayfinder, I felt an explosion of inspiration and motivation to recreate one of his concepts, which was the bone like bow, quiver and arrow!
Also special thanks to Nathan Alderson, for providing me in depth feedback during the process and creating a step by step document in how to texture the metallic parts!

I first started sculpting the base in Nomad sculpt, because I have to travel long hours during the week and wanted to work on portfolio pieces during those times. Afterwards, I moved the sculpts to ZBrush and adjusted some sizing and details to match the concept better.
Afterwards I did the retopology in Blender, which took me quite a while to bite through and afterwards uv-ing.
I started texturing in Substance Painter, and once I had the basic details in, I moved the prop and textures to 3Dcoat for some finishing touches.
